A Tale of Two Tribes & an Egg 🥚✨
Once upon a time, two tiny tribes nearly destroyed themselves over the silliest thing ever… how to crack an egg! 🥄
👉 The Reer Dabaweyne (Big Ass Tribe) swore by cracking from the large end.
👉 The Reer Dabayare (Small Ass Tribe) believed the small end was sacred.
Generations passed… wars, grudges, and endless debates 🔥—all over an egg. Yet in the end, the eggs tasted the same!
Then came a giant 🌪️ washed ashore by a storm. When he learned the cause of their hatred, he laughed:
“You’re fighting over THIS? While your islands sink around you?”
He urged them to unite, reminding them that family, survival, and a shared future mattered more than eggshells.
💡 The Moral:
How often do we waste precious time on petty divisions—tribalism, politics, or ego—while the real storms of poverty, insecurity, and missed opportunities batter our society?
For Somalilanders, this tale carries an urgent lesson:
✅ Rise above tribalism
✅ Embrace unity & shared identity
✅ Work for peace, prosperity, and global recognition 🌍
🚂 Let’s get on the #PeaceTrain together. The journey must be one of harmony, not discord.
As the wise say: “Reer Somaliland meel barwaaqo leh ayey u guurayaan, eyduna ha ka daba cido.” Wah… Wah Wah!
